Here's how a(n) Community Engagement Coordinator for our solar project office in Stubbo, New South Wales, Australia, contributes to our team:

Responsibilities

  • Provide a first point of contact for the local community by being our front-of-house representative based on site at the Stubbo solar farm project.
  • Work closely with the Stubbo Solar project’s developer, ACEN Australia, working on shared values to develop relationships with communities that create enduring and positive impact.
  • In consultation with the Project Management Operations Lead, assist in the development and implementation of a range of initiatives aimed at cultivating meaningful relationships that engage community stakeholders in the benefits of the project.
  • In consultation with the marketing team, assist in the preparation of high-quality communications (such as newsletters, information bulletins, advertisements, mailings, and content for digital media).
  • Assist in managing public relations, including media responses as required.
  • Assist with the planning and delivery of community events and activities.
  • Provide cultural insight and guidance to the project on interests and perspectives of First Nations people and able to reflect cultural sensitivities in communication activity.
  • Document community engagement activities and meetings (including meeting minutes, attendance records, reports, and findings).
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Associates or bachelor’s in business administration or a related discipline or equivalent.
  • 2 years’ experience in a community engagement or development role in Australia on a renewables project/solar farm preferred.
  • Comfortable with engaging with a diverse range of people, including public speaking and presentations.
  • Knowledge of the Gulgong/CWO community, including its members, resources and groups.
  • Deep understanding and appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island culture and heritage
  • Passion for creating a sense of community, especially in rural communities.
  • Creative approach to community events and engagement activities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills and an ability to prioritize.
  • Strong attention to detail, understands the importance of accuracy.
